Two tips:

1. Know your product better than the people you're selling to (or try to at least). Let your sales ability carry itself.

2. Get a good psychologist. Tech sales is fucking draining.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Eveerrryonnneeeee overthinks this. I promise you X to software/SaaS transitions are way less of a burden than everyone thinks they are. I've known a lot of people (I mean dozens) who have made transitions from car rentals, equipment, travel, you name it, into software. You'll be fine; I promise.

Tech sales has very high margins, and associated high commission rates (usually 8-10% year 1 ARR) so the sky is the limit if you can make it stick.  Just like any industry, ask a ton of questions during the sales process, establish strong upfront contracts, and follow up remorselessly.  - Give Sandler, and SPIN a read for SMB, or Miller Heiman /Challenger for MM/Ent

Ahh...gotcha. While I consider myself in "tech"...I sell components so obviously, way different. One of the best pieces of advice I was given a long time ago, I still think holds up well: "Fake it 'til you make it."
Good luck with the change!

Most software tech "solutions" are solving a problem, hence the denomination "solution". It is a value add game.

Knowing that, my biggest piece of advice is to truly understand the full scope of the problem that the solution is solving for. That doesn't mean "oh yeah we solve no having data by providing data".

Asking a blunt questions in job interviews like "so in your opinion, what is the primary problem this solution is solving for" is a great question. People really get gooy about that shit.

I'm curious as to how long you were in the wireless and if you have any advice for someone new to it? Left a company that starts with X for one that starts with A.

I was in wireless for roughly 7 years, depending on your role and day to day, I can provide insight on aspects pertinent to what you do
