Tired & Committed

I'm in sales, married & a new dad of a 9 month old baby boy. 12 years in this sales game my mind has shifted. I got in sales to pay off debt. I am staying in sales now to build wealth and buy the freedom and autonomy we crave as humans. Is the cost to high? I think most of our profession needs a healthy dose of counseling and nature retreats. I am so tired 18 months in pregnancy and post birth of our kiddo, but never been more committed to continuing to learn, earn and add value like a good Minch along the way.

I have worked a companies where the  money was good but the stress was terrible.

chances are that you dont need to leave sales, you need to change companies.

A change on scenery may be the thing.

keep killing it to give that little one the life they deserve! But don't kill yourself in the process.

Take a month or 2 and spend some time with the fam. These early years are ones you'll never get back.

Maybe look for a role with better work life balance? They do exist out there. Not every company expects you to grind 24/7. You can earn an amazing income in this industry working ~30 hours a week at the right place.

I’ve been in sales through the births of two children, who are now older teens. Really have to prioritize the family. The money is there to provide, but it’s important to spend time with the family. We vacationed together and I managed to spend a good deal of time with everyone. The money is a means to an end, and I swear there are companies out there that understand the importance of family life.

I hear ya man, I'm 10 years in and in Strat Enterprise.  Sometimes I wonder how anyone does this job (even though I've seen the fruits of my labor many times) at this level.  So many things you CAN control and so many you CAN'T.  The main thing I've learned is it's easy to let your success on the dashboard define who you are and that's not the case, we're all competitive and want to win, but sometimes even with all the right moves luck isn't on your side.  Either way, got to find what keeps you happy and motivated outside of the job and take time to invest in that.

You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.  Balance is different for everyone.
