🎮🎮 To my fellow working gamers, let's talk a little bit 🎮🎮

I've always loved videogames, as an escape, as a relaxation method, and as a passion.

I used to have a work where every day felt like if I died a little bit on the inside and thanks to gaming I was able to withstand it for a long time until I decided to take the jump and started doing what I like.

So what I would like to now your experiences, opinions and maybe even learn something new, tell me, what hobby or in these case videogame helped you in some dark times

Perfect combination of adventure and puzzles.

TLOU is one of the best story games i've  played, it's a shame I didn't got the chance till pretty late on the ps4 history so I already had spoil it :c.\
And if I had to choose it would be impossible but I stand between Souls games and Monster Hunter games, what about you?

I use gaming as a form of escapism - mainly RPGs.  Especially when covid hit and there was nowhere to go, video games were the perfect gateway.  I ended up on Dragon Quest, Animal Crossing, and most recently stardew valley.  Basically, anything that doesn't resemble work.

Which games have you used to relieve stress?
Swarthymovie

wow those are some grindy games, and if I may add, the best kind of games hahahaha.
Some of my favorites are the Monster Hunter games like World, Rise, Generations, but I'm also into not so very grindy RPG's like dark souls... not to relive stress though, that last one makes me want to crash my control to the wall xD.
But lately i've been trying new games, and satisfactory has been a nice gem so far

lol, I guess it doesn't take too much thinking and I can vege out.  I grinded out Octopath as well - that game was all grinding.  Dark souls DOES NOT relieve stress for me.  It's fun but in a stressful way, lol?

hahahaha that game provides a healthy stress... I don't really think that that exists but I got to give some love to my favorite game xD
btw never tried octopath, i heard of it but no idea, what is it about?

It's like 10% storyline and 90% grinding.  I don't recommend it, lol!  You basically get to play 8 different character's storylines and they all come together at the end.

Lol, try out Dragon Quest if you're into RPGs! I'd recommend starting out with DQ 8, 5, or the newest one on switch - 11! The storyline is amazing and has gotten me teary eyed at times <3

Switch and PS4.  I've been trying to get a PS5 so bad! Damn bots and scalpers keep ruining my chances.  I also have monster hunter, that's kinda grindy too - perfect to vege out.  What platforms are you on?

I feel you, i play on PC, and Switch, have been trying to get a GPU upgrade for the past year, but they are incredible expensive due to crypto mining and scalpers, rough year for gamers :/.

100% this.  I can't believe how crypto drove up the prices on all the GPUs!  Good reason to invest in GPU manufacturers!  win-win whether you're in crypto or not  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

can I triple upvote?!?!?! Yes, zoo is still around but it's not tier 1 anymore. It was before the last expansion. Paladin murdered everything until the latest nerf. Now its fairly even and I hate it lol. Working my face hunter like a mofo! Shaman got a decent boost because that class has sucked FOREVER.

Priest can suck it. I will hate them forever.

I use video games usually to signal the end of my workday. It really does help me relax and break away from work since I WFH. I play for 2 hours or so, hit the gym, eat and then get ready for bed for the next day.

I am a systems thinker, so I like complex grand strategy. Civilization franchise. And some others like Surviving Mars or Dyson Sphere Program.

A dangerous but fun hobby to get into that combines this with a creative outlet is tabletop miniatures games.

One of the best universes of Lore in the gaming world is Warhammer 40k, and there is endless fun building the models, painting them, and destroying your friends in a match over beers.

Some great videogames in the WH40k universe too, such as Dawn of War and Space Marine.

Videos games will definitely keep you distracted but I use them to make quick decisions and always have plans A, B, C, D, and on! Especially in competitive gaming, the team calls, and the strats, those few things can really help even in a work environment.

Shadow of Mordor. I'm not a particular fan of LOTR or fantasy. But the nemesis system is a lot of fun, you prospect npcs, recruit them, and use them to take down other characters. Its like a chess meets button mashing.
