Tolerance for failure

My company is awesome in that there's not a fear culture based on whether or not your hit your number or not. I've heard horror stories of other places and how there's zero tolerance for missing quote, whether it's for the first time or maybe 2 months/quarters/years (depending on how you're evaluated) in a row. How's your company treat savages in this way?

What's the PIP process look like for you?

Miss your quota

As long as you're busting ass you're safe.ย  That being said, if you have been on PIP for 4+ months and still nothing is changing, we will most likely let you go.ย  Also, for most people, if they are truly giving it their all and still can't hit the number,ย  they will just leave.ย

I've been in a culture that would PIP you if you dropped below 80% on your trailing 90 without even blinking an eyelash, and they provided minimal if not less support than usual to help you get off your PIP. On the other hand, I've worked in an environment where reps were under quota for a year + without getting a sideways look from management because they made it look like they were trying REALLY hard...which did no one any favors. There's gotta be a happy medium in there.

Definitely.ย  Give people space to breathe but also needs to have some sort of accountability.

How can you learn without failure? It's a key part to the sales game, try, fail, adapt, succeed!!ย

I think that good company culture would go for busting your ass you're generally safe but if that doesn't change or the rep is wasting time on stuff that not closing after awhile let them go.

i think it depends. are they close to quota each time and barely miss it? or are they throwing up big fat 0's?ย

Our PIP is 1 FP, so it depends on if you're monthly FP or quarterly FP. specific metrics and all that BS.ย
