Toxic positivity

Forced positivity is a form of denial. It's cruel, unkind, and ineffective.

Change my mind.

LOL, we all have that person at work. But, I hate to admit it more often than not people like that I have a positive outlook on life. I mean, I am not that person who's always laughing and smiling and telling people to be more positive, however, I tend to find some sort of opportunity to all obstacles that are provided to me.

Some guy told me that they are not interested, that's good! Because this new future client made me want to find a new approach or simply become a better salesperson. But that's just me, though idk

Being positive will never hurt you. But you also have to be real at some point and Jerry Maguire someone. But you can still be positive about it the entire time and if you're not, you may end up fucking yourself over. Being positive opens up opportunities for you. It frames your results in a way that is conducive to getting better.

True. but if or when it does, it's in your best interest to be positive about what you can be.

Being positive only gets in the way if you use it to avoid dealing with your real feelings.

Toxic positivity by leadership will have a negative effect on employee morale. I often see this as a symptom of a company culture where the focus is on what things look like at a surface level with little regard to root issues. I experienced this at my last company and it was extremely frustrating.

It gets pretty annoying when others kind of force you to be happy and you are just a natural realist.

Yeah, the forced positivity makes anybody who goes "hey, we have this massive problem right here" get called out as a negative. Your company ends up with a bunch of sycophants and then dies.

I have to agree. It’s one thing to remain positive in uncertain times. It’s another thing to be positive despite mounting evidence of a problem and doing nothing about it. That is not leadership lol. Too many “leaders” out there do this.
