Transitioning from Startup CEO to a Career In Sales

Hello Everyone,


I am a startup founder who is looking to transition into a career in sales. I was wondering if people had advice for things like:

  • Great companies to start your sales career in
  • Where to effectively find the average base pay of AE positions for individual companies
  • How to prepare for sales interviews

I’m not sure how to answer that but here’s my family recipe for perfect pinto beans on an instant pot.

Rinse off 5 cups of bulk pinto beans.
(If bought in bulk double check there are no small rocks)

Add beans to instant pot (I use 6 quarts one)

Fill instant pot with water to max line

Add salt, garlic, pepper, chipotles, to taste and 4 bay leafs.

Close lid and seal instant pot and select high pressure for 55 min.


Once finished quick release pressure.


How to serve - beans in its broth is delicious.

Use a small bowl and add some avocado, and queso fresco for a delicious lunch / dinner.

A - If you are already quitting the Startup Founder game, why do you think you have what it takes to make it in Sales?  

If I was a hiring manager, looking at your LI profile as I did (sheesh), I would be asking "how long is this guy going to want to work for me?"  You need to retool your resume in a major way!
