I hear ya. It is a marketing platform, yes. However, it is a great tool to support your sales activities and integrate with your CRM.

For example, following up with prospects that have engaged with your content e.g. webinar, podcast, social content, etc.

It depends on your process, I guess.

Yo, I tried Dooly for my whole team (30 reps) and could not get adoption. They love Scratchpad hands down for speed, ease of use, pace of innovation (new features rolled out, CMND+J) a d the support team is UNREAL.

Ghostery - tells you in one click on a site what is running on it - can really give you a lot of insight into how they think about marketing strategy today.

SpyFu - even the free version tells you some of the Google Adwords a company is bidding on which will tell you exactly how they think about their product/service and audience.

Focusmate.com is pretty cool. You can get a free 1 month trial, I think.

How it works:
Book 60 minute sessions where you’re on cam with a rando.

First 5 minutes:
You both state what you’re looking to accomplish in the session. You decide if you want to leave the mic on or off.

50 minutes:
Work individually on your task

Last 5 minutes:
Share what you accomplished

It’s a really cool way to try to hold yourself accountable and give yourself a little motivation to complete a task you’ve been procrastinating on...

Highly recommend Grammarly. You can put a "target tone" to make sure your email is coming across the way you want it to, and it integrates with most websites. Not Outlook though. Fuck that.

I also managed to get a free trial of D&B Hoovers database through talking to a rep. If you already use ZoomInfo, D&B Hoovers is great to cross reference since the number of contacts they have is less but the way that they are categorized is more accurate from what I've seen. You can typically snag some additional relevant contacts this way.

Thank you for posting this, as I was just about to request an email automation tool like persist. Do you know of any other similar applications that would allow me to build an entire sequence just for a tracking purpose, but the automation only applies to email?

The best tools are outreach and salesloft but are more expensive.  If you are looking for a free tool or something cheaper.  Apollo.io and persistiq outplay mixmax Hubspot all depends on the budget you are able to spend

Persist is a great tool, I've been using the free version for some time now. I also purchased this tool about 5 years ago or so for my SDR team. It was a great lite version of a SalesLoft/Outreach. Worked pretty well! I think they removed the dialer function though, although that might only be in the paid version.

Anyway +1 to Persist!
