Update: Am I Being Stalked By A Former Prospect

Update: I found out that this creep began doing the same thing to my boss once I blocked him on LI. LinkedIn notifications daily that he's been on boss' profile. My boss blocked him also, then the following day my husband received a Facebook friend request from this man! Husband didn't accept or decline yet, it's just sitting there pending... but this prompted me to call the CEO of Creep's prior organization. I found out that apparently, during his firing, they told him everything that I told them in our meeting as reasons for being let go. Although they had other reasons stated for his termination that would have been sufficient on their own (homie was on a PIP), in the CEO's words "Yeah, you were a big part of that conversation". This happened even though I told them I would speak on the condition of anonymity, and that I would not officially go on the record with anything.

Now this man believes I'm a huge part of the reason he was fired, even though the only person I told about his inappropriateness was my own boss. I'm livid.

I feel like this is so unethical and although I'm not an employee of this organization- I should have some sort of whistleblower protection. Or maybe I shouldn't since I wasn't officially the whistleblower, my boss told someone who told the CEO. Either way, now I can't help but feel like I'm potentially in danger over something I was an unwilling participant in throughout the entire process. What the fuck, man.

Again, WR Admins- please don't publicize this post, I'm really just using the only outlet I have of people who understand what it's like to do the dance of 'I need to be agreeable to sell shit but also don't fuck with me, please'.

What a fucking creep...adding your husband on FB is a new level of psycho.

Make sure he's blocked on every medium possible - social media, phone number, block his email as well. Indicate your husband do the same. If he continues to try contacting you from other mediums, block him on those as well. Do not respond. If you feel threatened in any way due to things he's saying or God forbid you start seeing him around in person, speak to the police.

It was a big mistake for his former employer to tell him what you said, but unfortunately it's not illegal...you don't really have any ground to stand on in terms or protection here, except protection for your wellbeing from law enforcement if it comes to that.

I would be vigilant for the next little while. Don't be paranoid, but keep an eye out for strange cars or people lurking around your neighbourhood/office building. If something seems off about a situation, listen to your gut. I really hope this man is just socially inept/creepy and not dangerous.

I've blocked him in every way that I know how to! I'm so frustrated that they did that, and while I do doubt I have any recourse- I wish that I did.

Here's to hoping I don't end up in a basement, or encased in concrete somewhere. Lol. (I might listen to too much true crime... /shrug)

Yes. My CEO is considering legal action... but I guess the good news is that they're telling me they'll sign the deal that I was trying to sell original guy by the end of the week. Not nearly enough revenue to make me risk my life, but at least I'm getting some crumbs out of the whole ordeal I guess.

Maybe not yet, but I would certainly start documenting everything. Best case, he's angry and just looking around, but gets over it and eventually moves on. However, just in case things do get escalated, having a dated record of the sequence of events can be very helpful.

So, if it comes to blows, you would definitely have SOME kind of legal recourse against the other org. Unfortunately you would need to suffer directly, so you may want to start taking notes and screenshots for a frivolous lawsuit- if you’re so inclined.

That said, I really hate to say it, but you should take precautions and file a police report. Just put it on record kind of thing.

In this day and age there are A LOT of weirdos out there. And I mean, people just struggling from mental illness. Maybe you were just nice to him and he’s kind of clinging to that feeling. Maybe this guys going through depression or something. Regardless, you could very easily be right and he just goes away. Most of the creepy type of people, like 99.99% are harmless. But you really can’t take that chance with a guy this obsessive.
