I hate the up-front contract almost as much as much as I hate updating the CRM. They're transparent, and mean nothing other than it's an actionable tid-bit that a sales trainer can point to when trying to prove their worth.ย

The upfront contract is good for certain personas. HR and marketing it's good because lots of times they don't want to disappoint you and wont say no to you. however if you are talking to C-level or other forms of higher ups they 99% of the time are there to get things done and don't need it.

It establishesย an agreement on what will occur during the meeting and acceptable outcomes for the end of the meeting.ย It's paired at the beginning of the meeting/end of agenda.

Upfront contracts are good in theory but is also a pretty old and common trick. Perhaps better for transactional sales. I can think of a scenario, especially in complex sales with multiple stakeholders on a single call, that an upfront contract would be better than an agenda. Which should ideally have some upfront contracting in it.ย

Still, it feels kinda heavy handed for where we're at in near 2022

First... knowing what the Sandler Training Up Front Contract is would be pretty important. Most of the comments here are clearly from salespeople that haven't had the training... too bad.

I use the UFC in almost any meeting that I run....

For an interview, it's as easy as putting the steps together.
The purpose of this meeting is...
We have about X amount of time... does that still work?
What do you hope to accomplish...
What do I hope to accomplish...
Here are the outcomes... yes on next steps, no on next steps, no TIO
