Is this a statement or are you asking?

I personally never found that it did but I’m sure someone from gong will reply shortly with some random article with stats on the topic.

When this was posted a few weeks ago I responded:

"You know, I haven't thought about this. I would say at a quick glance it would grab my attention."

Now that I've thought about it, I am not a fan.

My company has done this with some success (around 1% more than our usual rate) however we did implement more changes so I’m unsure it was just the name in it.

To be super honest I prefer a short subject line, so you can still read the prospects name in the email without opening it.

We tested this out at a company I worked at 4 years ago and that turned out to be the case, I still do it now but really just because that's my style. I'm pretty informal. I don't like being called "Mr. SaaSam" so I don't typically use Mr./Mrs. so and so.

Probably depends on who you're selling to to be honest. Any time I have ever gotten dick head responses to the fact that I addressed a prospect by their first name it was a relatively high ranking old dude at a decent sized company.

Does it? You should have the data to back this up. What technology are you using to send/track email performance?

Yes, it does. Tested same subject lines with and without names. With prospect names always get a higher open rate.

What about positive response rate? Personally I dont care about open rate if it doesn't get the results I'm looking for.

That is certainly a good point, I unfortunately have no data on this myself.

I don't do it on a cold email, but usually sprinkle it in on warm prospects. I think it comes off spammy in cold outreach.

Best subject line I've ever used is: "Connecting with Name". Works like a charm

Depends, nothing wrong with testing it out yourself for a week or two. It might just work for the type of people you are going for!

Name might grab their attention. it is what comes after the name that is important. Getting them to open the email is only the first battle. The info in the body is what will make or break the engagement.

So many people use name in the subject line that when people get an email they already know its going to be a pitch.

Depends. If I get an email from something I follow- or signed up for- ie. gap Body Shop or Sephora etc? Go for it. But I loathe when someone uses my name to create false intimacy - in my retail days with a name tag? Stop it. Also maybe bc I’ve read so many sales tips and tricks -this would bug me and comes off creepy or cheesy IMO

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
This used to work. In my opinion, it no longer does.

Yep it does...Seen more open & reply rates when you put your company also. For example: Bravado <> Salesforce : Exploring synergies

I've usually used it when reaching out to an inbound lead for the first time - like a demo request.

Not so much on cold emails.
