Don't get your panties in a knot - I'm not gatekeeping lol. This forum is mainly US users so I'm just giving the OP heads up that they're unlikely to get a bunch of responses.
Not worthy of the upvotes, I get it, you gotta pump out comments and sometimes they'll come out as brash, that's fine. But I won't downvote you, or get knickers in knots, you've got a following on here and kudos for it, they like to agree with the popular kids, that's cool, but still, think about it... If you are new to a community and you're reaching out asking for locals, saying "stick to people you know" why should they stick around, and on top of that, you're setting the tone for the discussion. You're an influencer in here cupes, you've got sway now, the community is your mirror. ✌️I'm out.

Didn't mean to come off as abrasive. I've seen a few threads made about specific cities other than SF/NYC and they don't get alot of action, that's all.
Love the new community growing pains. I'm getting downvotes responding to clear gatekeeping. It's a sales community, yes a US heavy user base, but some absolute sucking up to active users going on. It's a global website, I understand brigading etc, but it's just becoming a parody at this point.
Posts saying downvote trash, then seeing participants complaining about it voting in the polls... You can't have it both ways.
Disagree button out in force vs. thoughtful answers to new member queries, vs "network within your own circles". Downvote is there to police bad content. Tell me why I'm getting that?
I'm really slowing my role here because of this "Reddit admin" mentality. I'd love the great content and community building to return, and until then.

Media Sales Pro here. My sales journey - Cellphones - cars - digital marketing - national news company. Recently left my corporate media job because the industry is going through serious challenges these days, to help grow a local news media start up.
The start up sounded great, trying to fix everything wrong with the business - but I have stumbled into the least sales oriented company ever. The first (of many) red flag was when CEO scolded me for having too big of a pipeline, and ordered me to immediately stop cold calling and just close the deals in there.
I'm a hustler, self sourcing leads, and closing big deals in media - looking to switch into tech.
I doubt I could hack it as an AE without knowing the business better- but BDR work comes totally naturally to me - any tips on best local tech company to get educated in the field?
