Video Messages Embedded in Email?

My sales team is currently having a debate as to whether embedding a video recording of your ask for a meeting in an email is an effective prospecting tool or not. I'm feeling hesitant about using a tool like Drift to create video links for a prospect to click on but I would love to be proved wrong by someone who has had luck with this prospecting motion.

Do you have any experience with video prospecting?

I’ve heard from a lot of sources that video can get caught in a spam filter, that make me cautious.

Beyond that I’ve seen a lot of cringe worthy embedded videos.  They often feel to lack any sense of a conversation starter.  I think LinkedIn is a good place to post recording of demos or pitches but not a fan of it in email.

Tried it, super time consuming, not really worth the effort, however could be something to think of for really good ICPs and qualified warm leads

I'm a fan. I'm using it more and more, especially as part of the follow-up after the initial conversation. Did they ask for a slide deck? Add a video with it where you highlight a key point you don't want them to miss.  If done right, you can actually spend LESS time on a "perfect" follow-up email if you use video.

It's hard to do video prospecting if you have to send emails in bulk. It can be time-consuming.

I have used and helped others use Vidyard very effectively. You can do both one to many and even better, targeted, personalized video outreach with great results.

Super intrigued by this - do you have any resources that you've used to help develop your acumen around this?

I'd need to know a bit more about what you sell and how you sell it to point you in the right direction.
I found that once you know:
-who you call
-what they care about

You can get a bunch of similar targets lined up and pump out an individual message to each of them back to back, kind of get in the groove, all with a similar theme but personalized to each person and their company. Pretty good workflow with Vidyard and Hubspot to do that effectively.

I actually just signed up for Vidyard so I'm glad to hear it's been effective for you! Would you say the 1:1 or 1:many have yielded better results? I'm trying to decide where to spend the effort!

1:many to test messaging if you don't have it dialed in then 1:1 all day long

I use Vidyard but only to prospects that have opened my previous email. So for me the video is a second touch.

The videos are usually quite short(10 - 20 seconds). I've gotten strong results from this (both no's and yes's).

Would love to hear how others are employing the tactic!

I love using a quick vidyard video after I've done a demo to answer some more nitty gritty questions about the platform, but I don't know about for just asking for a mtg
