[POLL] Virtual company conferences...

I am currently sitting in front of my computer for 4 hours straight every morning in a company-wide conference. Some of the info has been useful (product roadmap, company update, etc.), but a lot of it is fluffy bullshit and I feel like this could have been a one day thing instead of 5 days.

Anyone else been through one of these? What did you like and hate?

I think with WFH a lot of upper management since there's no facetime in office have lost self-esteem on the "worth" or value they have to the company.

Hence your 4 hour meetings everyday to give people something to do.

Five days? Man...Lord give you strength.

My company had one earlier this year, spanning just one day. They tried...but it was really tough to stay focused, and just not the same as an in person event. Really hope to get back to in person ASAP.

Yeah in person is far superior. One day would honestly be wayyyyyy better, but here we are lol

You have to feel for event companies in and post COVID really, but the whole concept of the virtual conference is just garbage.ย  You'd be better off taking all of the time and effort that goes into the garbage and hiring one really AMAZING speaker, and using that as the single lead generation hook.ย ย

Its the combination of WHF burnout and the sheer uselessness of such conferences
