VP/Director of Sales, if I want to sell to you, what is the best way to reach out?

I'm new to sales and our product's ICP is VP/Director of Sales and Pre-sales. It's never pleasant to be on either side of cold-anything, be it calls or emails or pigeon homing. That being said, what channel do you respond better to when someone reach out cold?

its not necessarily about the medium, its about the message.  I automatically delete any automated bot garbage, as I prefer to buy stuff from humans who are putting in the work, not trying to spam the haystack to find the needle.

Interesting take. What have you seen Reps doing right in email that caught your attention and proved that they were genuine?

Phone.

Email's can easily be sent to multiple people w/ just names entered from a DB; so nothing personalize about it and you KNOW you're not the only one to get it.

I know I'm not the only one to get a phone call either, but it shows more effort imo. So long as you do your homework before the call and don't just "wing it".

I am not a VP/Director but I do sell to them a lot.  I have found that sending a handwritten note with a brief message and my business card works sometimes...definitely a better engagement rate than calling or emailing.  granted this is for a prospect that I've already tried to reach multiple times through regular channels.

Call me but it has to be good.

don’t BS me with the 27 second nonsense and you better actually understand what I/my company does.

chances of me responding to an email is about a billion to one

Curious to know what was the best cold call you've got? What made it so?

Tbh, the best cold call I’ve ever received was from someone who wanted a job on my team.

outside of that, best are calls have been something that is relevant, they haven’t been in a rush to get off the phone or just book a meeting and ask a powerful question to get me talking

I sell to VP’s of sales and had very limited success cold emailing. What I’ve found is even when I screw up on a cold call, folks aren’t mean. You still get the extra 5 seconds only cuz they know what it is like.
I’d definitely recommend calling em

I prefer a call or voicemail. Leave me a message and a reason I want to call back.

I agree with the VM, and so many people don't leave one now or leave a compelling one
