In 2009 I graduated with a degree in Marketing and marketing was SO cool back then, and Sales as a profession was looked down upon, scoffed at, like it was a sleazy profession.
Fast forward to 2022 and Sales is now WAY more personable than Marketing. While marketing agonizes over their A/B's and AI Marketing Lead Funnels (trying to trick people into buying shit) Sales is over here making solid ass business relationships HUMAN to HUMAN, gaining and building trust with decision makers, following up like a boss, and closing huge deals.
So in a way I'm kind of glad that no-one hired me for a sweet Marketing gig fresh outta college.
I'm glad I was forced to go into Sales and get decent at it.
And the best part is I haven't lost a step in Marketing Experience because Marketing is slowly becoming something that SALESPEOPLE have to do in order to effectively network accounts and get on DM's radars...
We joke all of the time about Marketing on here so I don't mean to punch down but I just wanted to share that Sales is awesome, and Marketing kinda sucks now.
Have a blessed day.
