Was anyone a parent while being an SDR?

I had my daughter 3 weeks into my first SDR role.

I always felt like I missed out when the team would go out for drinks or out on Fridays, and always felt like the odd one out.

And I rarely worked late, because I was either too dead or had to be home, so I got passed up for a couple promotions because I didn't "grind" like the other reps coming in early and staying late.

Now I look back and I don't really care about any of that.

I'm curious if there are any other SDR dad's/mom's out there and would like to hear their experiences.

Yep, current parent here who had a newborn while I was an SDR. I simply outworked everyone from 8-5 and topped the stack rank from activity to results every month. When you have a motivation as strong as a child, you tend to work harder i think.ย

I definitely agree, I never hit it out of the park, but I hit or got just over quota every month.ย

I was definitely laser focused at work because I knew there's no chance I'd have time with a 2 month old to get anything done before or after.
