I'll wave before exiting the meeting. I don't see what the big deal is about waving or non-waving, there is much bigger aspects of my, and I'm sure everyone else's, deal cycle to worry about than waving.

Type of wave is important. I tend to flash just the hand up with no wagging with a confident, "adios". But that matches my personality. 

If flapping your hand about like a dying pidgeon while sobbing and shrieking, "never leave me!" matches your personal style and doesn't make things awkward, have at it, and congrats.

I should write a quick read article on what not to do on Zoom based on this persons behavior.

I say no to waiving on Zoom.
