Week3 at new AE job

Dear Sharks,


This is my week 3 as an AE and a software service integrator company in SEA. I draft and created sequences as per our offerings and ideal personas. I dug through old deals looking for quick win only to understand why the previous salespersons are leaving ( they dun give a shit about follow-ups with prospects, it's like after the first introduction call and their job is done)


I planned my activities and discussed with my sales director our game plan to hunt new accounts. My MD is expecting me to target at least 30 meetings for Nov.


My week 4 will be kick-starting all the sequences and start my outbound activities. I also scheduled some time for self-studying and research.


What outbound activities do you do? I use automated email campaigns, cold-call, and LinkedIn messagging.

All in a seq but you need to have a clear strategy and lot of A/B test. You might want to start with a call followed by an email and vice-versa to what works better. Similarly, you might want to play around with two different body/subject line/CTA in your first sequence to see what gives you better open/click etc (whatever is your metric).ย

That's a good strategy. And monthly meetings with current clients are important too. The easiest customer to keep happy is your current one. Don't forget about them.

I'm gg full outbound on accounts with the ideal attributes in my territory. Will be prospecting on lindkln, cold calling and running email campaigns as mentioned.ย 

My concern is time and result. Even though I have automated the emails but outbounding on calls and lkdn are really time consuming and not always fruitful.ย  What are your tricks or strategies for outbounds?ย

It's obviously key to have different means of communication with prospects but like the other comments have said, you do need to have a strategy when testing them. Something my boss always says is go back to the basics. So if you start testing things out that just aren't working, go back to the fundamentalsย
