Weird Stories from Work!

I have so many. let's begin

Guy at work was about 300 lbs and worked in support. Every day around noon (I'm told) he would go to the bathroom to do a little numero dos. He always grunted and yelled throughout the process. His nickname with all the guys was "the screamer" (he also jerked off in the bathroom from time to time I'm told)

Second Story. A manager from another team apparently started doing testosterone shots himself. He also asked one of his reps to help him with it, downstairs, in the bathroom. One of the guys on my team was in the stall next to them one day and overheard it all. Thats how we know. Great manager besides that.

what's your story you prob wouldn't mind forgetting?

The enablement team apparently purchased Gong against the sales teams wishes, but never made it mandatory so half our team has no idea we have it, and barely anyone uses it. Not too funny, I just love shitting on Gong.

Random story: one time the office food gave 100+ of us food poisoning, so we got pizza for lunch for a few months while they looked for a new vendor. I milked the fuck out of that… took 3 days off work.

Edit: thought of another one. At my old job we had a gym, happened to be on the floor my team sat on so I had to walk pst it to get to the kitchen. I swear to god EVERY SINGLE TIME I walked past - the same engineer was in there doing pull-ups. Like this dude must have done thousands a day. IDK what his actual job was, but he was always in there. And he was maybe 80lbs soaking wet, so it was confusing as hell.

We use a Gong competitor. I don't even turn it on and don't know a single rep in the company that uses it.

Someone really did damage to one of the toilets in my office. Like - should get their bowels checked out sort of damage. One of the reps walked in after him and was repulsed by the state of things so he took a photo of the crime scene and sent an email cc’ing the entire office (including management) saying THIS IS NOT OK.

I don’t blame him for being disgusted but do feel bad for anyone who opened that email while eating.

I don't know what was more brutal there, the actual monster rep #1 did, or the email rep #2 sent!

My CEO cheated on his wife (vp of product) with the Secretary and made her the new Vp of product. Ex wife was rightfully vindictive. She used to submit leads to penile extension plastic surgeons around the country with his info and their front desk would always call back asking for our ceo. We’d always laugh because we thought it was a joke until a couple months in he was on the floor when it happened. He walked off and his little home wrecker came out and lectured us about it. That was an interesting one. I’ll try to think of more.

At one of my old jobs, security caught a guy that would always stay after hours...to sniff at chairs. It was on tape, and of course someone got that tape, digitized it (this was in the early 2000's) and well, the tape got places.

We had a guy that always wore jackets, even when it was like 108 degrees outside. He was also a big gun nut: new ones, old ones, antique ones - it was extremely odd. We’re in Texas so it isn’t that uncommon to own a gun - but this guy had an inventory on his own website. Anyway - fast forward to one fateful Monday when we see these giant “No Hand Guns” warning sign on the main door to our office. Turns out dude was keeping two pistols in holsters under his jacket. Still works there. Weird dude.

My old job had a guy secretly leaving in the company storage unit for about 6 months before being caught.

Then still lived there for about 30 days while looking for a new place....

The dude probably made 40-60k in FL (which is comfortable), he was just Scottish so he was cheap as shit....

Used to support two AEs as an SDR. One got fired 3 weeks after I joined for punching on with the other.

Usually for MQL's I just try to build some rapport because they likely just doing homework at the time but long term they'll hopefully respond to my follow up email when/if it makes sense.

Just treat them as slightly warmer cold leads. No need to necessarily mention the click tracking, etc. Just use that knowledge to your advantage in your outreach.
