WFH vs. Hybrid WFH/in-office

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts about the idea of a hybrid WFH and in-office. Sounds like that's what my VP is leaning towards with like tuesday/thursday in the office. Hard pass, but if it's once or twice a month, i can deal

How can someone have a daily routine if it changes every day? surely I'm not the only one who feels like that but am curious to hear thoughts

I like being in the office. With that said, I also like working from home.ย

It's tough because I have a very particular setup that I like on my desk (monitors, chargers, fidget things, etc.) so it'd be tough for me to do half and half, but it feels like the best option for me...

I miss people so I am 100% in agreement with this. But I need the freedom to be remote if necessary

100% we've gone back into the office one day a week, but with hot desks, and the most annoying thing is having to set yourself up and finding a mouse or keyboard. Wastes the first part of the day.

I think having the option to go into the office, but not have certain days be required, would be the best option. There are definitely days like EOQ, when I wish I could walk over to my legal or deal desk and get something pushed through. That and drinking with co-workers for big wins or brutal losses as things come down to the wire.ย

I like this take - some days are more important than others for being in the office, but it's about days that the team wants to be there. whereas if it's required you'll have this feeling like everyone is being forced to be there

Like most, I prefer flexibility. There is value to be found from having everyone together in the office as much as some people disagree, I think Tues/Thurs being mandatory with M/W/F being WFH optional is a good idea.

Hybrid for the win. Allows me the freedom to roam and travel with the ability to still work, but the ability to go into the office when I get Cabin Fever from my house.ย

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
I want an office I can go to but don't have to go to. I had this at one job and it was ideal. If that's not an option, I'd rather go full remote.

I think 1 to 2 days a week where you can meet for all hands or just team meetings makes the most sense. Lets you focus on calls and client meetings the other days

I would personally prefer a hybrid approach.

My job has moved to 100% WFH for good. I don't mind at all. I will say maybe once every few weeks I go a little crazy just sitting in my apartment every day, but then I'll just take my laptop and got a park or something.ย

Can't concentrate working from home personally, so I'm in 100%, but I think you should be allowed the flexibility to do either.ย  It's also nice for when I need to be home and watch the kids if a babysitter fell through or something.

I'd be all about 2 days in the office and 3 wfh. I feel I get more work done wfh and then 2 days would be great at the start of the week were most of my meetings happen.ย

We were doing the hybrid approach in my office until Covid. After WFH for a year, boss decided to make it permanent.

I'd like to be in the office full time with the option to WFH when I feel like it. It's depressing doing these jobs from home without in person human interaction.ย

Although I have been missing the energy from the sales floor along with the sound of the bell when a deal has closed, it does has its perk.

I think that post-covid, certain days such as Monday and Friday would be great for working in-office.

The reason being is that Mondays are typically a meeting heavy day at least internally. Fridays, I do not think that I need to say much here as who doesn't love to grab a beer on a Friday after work to celebrate another week completed?

The future of work is definitely hybrid in my opinion and I am here for it!

It's going to be interesting when managers have half their teams in the office, and the other half scattered around the country.

Remember those team calls when half the team were in the room, and the other half were on the conference call line? What a shit show they were. If you were remote, you'd have a hard time hearing what everyone is saying. If you were in the room, you had a hard time repeating stuff so the people on the phone could hear it.ย ย

Hybrid will be able to make ends meet for those who love WFHs and ones who love offices
Purely office or purely WFH, may not be a viable option , soon

I'm on the 100% remote train. I wouldn't mind if my company wanted to be hybrid and have some people come in sometimes because I know some people like being in the office. But I'm not going to stand for my company telling me what days I need to be in the office. I'm most productive and happy at home
