Following this.....Always looking for good ideas.  I've found this is a very tough thing to do, bridging the gap between keeping thigs fun and lively for employees and being lame and having it feel forced...

Gamification. My company did a march madness bracket for our sales teams and the winner won a sweet prize and a little award for being March Madness champions. It was single elimination every week and it's funny how many more meetings the two teams in the championship had compared with the rest of the floor by the end of it!

We get a day off for our birthday! A lot of companies have great PTO policies, but I think the birthday day is unique and really is fun to take your birthday off!

Exactly! We can use it anytime within our birthday week, so you can use it to take a long weekend or take the actual day, your choice.

We have a feel Good Friday meeting which used to be awesome and fun but has completely devolved into an all hands. When it was cool we would spin the wheel of metrics and then the winner for that week would play plinko for money, you could win up to $200. When we were in the office during those meetings we would have free chick fil a chicken biscuits and have music going all morning until that time. It was fun. Other things we do is play let’s make a deal, we’ve done March madness tournaments, competition spiffs some that are individual and team based. Prizes can be really nice swag, money, tickets, etc

No one has done this yet but i think we should be having casual mondays instead of casual fridays. I mean, think about it, why does an employee need any motivation on a friday? Its a friday!!

Lately we've had some sales contests where the reward is your immediate team getting X amount of cash to plan their own reward. My team ordered steak dinners for ourselves and our spouses. We didn't eat them together; we had separate date nights. So we cheated the system and didn't use it to "bond as a team" but because of that we really enjoyed it, and I was pretty thankful for my company.

Haha compelling. Did the management ever catch that and change the comp?

Ongoing rewards for top performers of the week, beer in the office (on Fridays and when a big sale is closed, if you want to partake,) nice lounge areas for the sales teams with couches/ping pong/pool, actually good gifts and a party for the holidays, management doesn't crawl up people's butts 24/7 and we don't hire assholes.

Once a month Fridays off! Honestly a game changer. An even big changer in months where there are additional Monday holidays.

How do you keep yourself motivated under pressure? Yes, I've heard of the usual responses like "finding your why" & "aligning yourself", etc. But I just want to get to the meat of the solution. Are there any specific tactics you guys use to keep yourselves motivated?
