What are the best sources for finding new roles?

Hey everyone, curious to hear how everyone is sourcing open roles?

I'm currently on the hunt, and looking for an AE role at a series a/b/c SaaS startup with a strong product-market fit, growth trajectory, and TAM. I'm also looking for a remote role, so geography doesn't matter too much so long as they hire Canadians.

Obviously, there are the classics like LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor. I'm checking in on AngelList periodically as well. Are there other sources you'd recommend?

I like to stare at the clouds until something comes to me. If that doesnt work I start to go to the websites of companies I believe in.

Or talk to people in my network that are working at companies I believe in.

I love posts like this, why does everyone think there needs to be funding to be worth working at a company. All funding means is that your executive team generally jumps when the VC says how high - and in this economic client the VCs are pushing all of their Funded companies in cash conversation mode. Find a product you wanna sell - work hard, and the rest will take care of itself

I completely agree that finding the right product and working hard are the most important factors. Funding does matter though. Early-stage start-ups are often still searching for the right product-market fit. If they don't have it, they may not have the resources to get the product where it needs to be. As a candidate the information I'll get about a company's financials, their product-market fit, and growth trajectory are limited and very anecdotal. Successful funding rounds can be an indication that folks who have access to all of that data through their due diligence believe that the data indicates a strong potential for growth. Obviously, they can be wrong, and VCs sometimes put their money behind steaming piles of the garbage but great VCs make great bets.

Network.    People you respect who have gone to other companies.  Let them know you're looking, and look at where they landed to see if it suits you - then ask them about it.

I always hit LinkedIn first and keep in touch with my network. Someone will have something worth looking into.
