What are the biggest productivity challenges you see in sales?

TLDR: What are the hottest topics or areas you or others would love to grow in as far as things like personal development, productivity, energy, and how it relates to the sales profession?
--------------
Hi brothers and sisters of selling, i recently started a medium account with the intent to create high quality content roughly focusing on "personal development within sales."ย

This is a passion project and outlet for me as a psychology and growth junkie but it's important it delivers value to the sales community because we're people too and we deserve to be the best damn people possible!

Feel free to hit the poll and/or give some more detailed feedback so I don't go running off into a dumbass direction and write shit nobody cares about.

what are the top areas that you want to grow?

Leadership might be a good one, thinking from engagement standpoint. Many people desire to move up. Might resonate.

On the other hand, I think stress/burnout management is something that you can make shit ton of content about. More good content = More success eventually.

I say, donโ€™t focus on one area, pick more. Start with one.

Live Filthy or Die Clean
< This degenerate's humble opinion: I'll pile on @Gasty 's advise - I think that burnout can affect all of the other topics. It's easy to start a new system or habit for better communicating or getting more joy out of work but when the burnout hits all bets are off and your pacing back and forth grumbling about a minor inconvenience that completely derails your week as it lives in your head on every prospect call and internal forecast discussion.

Burnout is what we all battle day in and day out why we try to achieve all these other goals and better ourselves. This isn't a sales specific statement, burnout happens to anyone who works for money, but with our inherent "quota-coaster" lifestyle and live and die by the sword/sale we are probably more prone to it and our work is more abstract so it requires multiple levels of focus, discipline, and visibility.

Itโ€™s like a constant anxiety that I will be let go from my role. I wish there was more assurance on that and they didnโ€™t fire people left and right. I am not unproductive but it always makes me think just how much work I ought to do

You guys are awesome, I'm taking note and coming up with some content ideas that I'll share for feedback and then flesh out the ones that ring loudest.

Right now it seems burnout and stress are big winners (no surprise).

Follow up question: what have you tried to deal with burnout stress that hasn't worked?
