What are the hottest startups coming out of the Bay Area and New York?

Looking for Rocketships. I consistently review AngelList and Built In... Anyone know of better resources to find the hottest startup companies?

I would say it depends how early you want to join a "rocketship". If you want to find an unrecognized Seed/Series A company that has potential to blow it out of the water, you'll likely need to be well connected or have deep industry knowledge to find them before they're already on that rocketship path.

Outside of AngelList and Crunchbase, I would recommend finding VC's/firms that invest either in the stage of the company you're interested in, or the particular industry you want to find something in. A lot of these investors will post open roles in their portfolio companies before they hit AngelList or LinkedIn - and some of them even have their own talent pools for their investments. (First Round Talent is one that comes to mind)

I feel like there was something going around from @GeneralCorp that gave strong data on salary and average OTEs that could be helpful with this. Can't remember what it was though.

Depends what stage you're looking for and domain? B2B, D2C?
Keeping an eye on StrictlyVC (new rounds of funding) and techcrunch are helpful.
