What are the most important traits you look for in a SDR or BDR?

Besides the obvious ones, I always try go for former high level athletes. Helps with the competitive nature of the job. If not, if they had previous experience that required small talk. Something like a bartender.
I’ve found this to be true as well. Doesn’t work so well with current athletes for me 8)
Hunger. I have luck recruiting people from retail sales. They're familiar with sales and have tough skin from being in retail. They face rejection and rude customers on a daily basis. Cold calling will not shake them. They've also had a taste of commission and want more.
I can train them how to write professionally, personalize msging, create sequences and cadences but I can't teach hunger.

I guess, honesty, you wouldn't want someone that would push their grandma under a bus just to top you.

Posted this quote earlier... as Warren Buffett says: When hiring, look for brains, energy, and integrity. If they are missing the third, the first two will kill you.
I don't make it a point to work on the weekend, but if I've got an important deal in the works with a tight timeline or something, I'll do what I need to do to keep it going. But I definitely prioritize what's legitimately urgent and what can wait till monday.
