What are you wearing?

hehe that sounds dirty. ANYWAY, when you go to in person meetings? what are you wearing? Do you dress depending on the client? I used to almost always be suit and tie but now it's jeans, nice shoes, and usually a shirt sleeve button up, although if it's an important meeting I put long sleeves on. Just curious, random thought while going to a client.

The dress code that my CEO gave us for in person meetings is simply to "look money" so I'm usually rocking a nice button down, no tie, sports coat, slacks, and some sexy brown leather wingtips

You must be a dude. Dudes always have the "what do I wear" thing much easier than us gals.

No such thing as a pair of jeans and a button up shirt with nice shoes if you're me. I'll look like I'm headed to the ranch regardless of intent.

I feel for women in sales when it comes to "what do I wear". But I always respect the women who can pull off "classy but casual".

Yeah, the casual "just toss on some jeans and a button down shirt with boots" is not the same look for women in sales vs their male counterparts.

Granted, a nice blouse + jeans and nice but casual shoes work just fine. It just does take a ton of thought.

put the jacket on when you walk up to the appt? The A/C works in the car just fine.

Always a button down with a light blazer thing and some not dress pants, but not jeans, whatever group that fits into.

It’s some 5 pocket pant from Brooks Brothers. Super comfy, but not quite jeans, def not dress pants. Probably closer to jeans. Can you tell I’m not very fashionable?

Ed hardy babyyyy, I like to look like a suburban mother from New Jersey. I usually do a sports jacket, button up and slacks.

Collared shirt + suit pants for hip/young meeting. Add a tie and blazer with older or huge organisations.

To be fair we always overdress compared to the others in the meeting

I just wear a nice polo with jeans and nice shoes or a company branded shirt.

All depends upon who and where I am meeting a customer at. If it is at a job site or their warehouse it is boots, jeans, polo, hat and sunglasses. In office with their C-Suite it is still a polo but possibly nicer jeans or khakis and boots. The one perk of the construction industry is the need for suit and tie is pretty minimal.

Always dress a step or 2 up from your client.

I almost always show up in a suit or sport coat/slack and a button up dress shirt (always long sleeve). Rarely a tie though unless I am at a conference presenting something.

Its easy to remove a jacket and a pair a slacks + a nice button up dress shirt never goes out of style or is inappropriate.

I dabble a little with street wear so I mix that into my business attire. I feel like it adds a bit of flare to your typical collar shirt + trousers look

jeans and polo or chino's and a button up 99% of the time. every once and awhile I'll take it a step farther, but its rare

so the only time i do this really is for conferences. And i switch between nice pants and a button up, long sleeve, or dress pants, with a blazer and button up.

That seems to always be appropriate.

I always dress 1/2 step down from who I'm meeting. If it's c level suit and tie guy, I'm shirt & blazer. If it's a director level in a dress shirt, I'm in a golf shirt. I want them to feel they have the 'power' and that I value my work over my look
