Current BDR at a startup. I'm at 60k base with 100k OTE.

OTE between $70k and $100k (depending on product and market)

35 to 50k on average. If its your first SDR job probably the former, though trends show sales salaries in general going up.

One of my friends is an enterprise BDR and is on pace to make $150k this year. 75k as his base.

🤷🏻‍♂️ very atypical comp for BDR. Even at the enterprise level. The Bridge Group is a good resource for this type of information.

I agree. I’d say typical OTE is around 80-90k

Different role. SDRs are generally entry level, BDR is like a slot between there and AE.

@chadilac FYI there isn't a difference between the terms SDR and BDR. Just a different name. Some organizations may differentiate the two, but as a whole they are interchangable.

@chadilac From what I’ve learned BDRs are full outbound and SDRs handle more inbound. Either way my friend is an outbound rep who just sets meetings and is making a killing.

There actually is, but it depends on where you work. In many places, SDR is a first step typically handling inbound with a progression to outbound BDR and then AE or SDR manager. In smaller orgs, could be synonymous.

Ours have an OTE of about 45-50k but it's very entry level and the expectation is that they move to an AE role within six months.

I got paid 50k base 20k OTE as an SDR. It was my first sales job. I handled inbound, prospecting, and outbound. It was at a 5 year old software company with around 250 employees and I was in NYC. From my research at the time, this was fairly low for the city I was in.

I would also like to add, that I crushed quota consistently and made around 90k before being promoted

My first was a 38 base with about 55 OTE, but had a pretty clear promo path. You've also got to factor in cost of living

If it were up to me I wouldn’t pay SDR’s at all. They should be treated as indentured servants. They get a laptop, headset, free wifi access (only for the top SDR’s), and 4 rations of bread per week in exchange for setting appointments. That’s way more than fair.

SDR at startup here. I think I’m a little overpaid for the market. 70k base about 110k OTE. Out of curiosity.. what are they offering at Salesforce?

For an enterprise SDR, I think that's on point. The 2021 comp guide here shows what's the average  https://experience.bettsrecruiting.com/e/2021-comp-guide-q1-602420f980272
