What do I look for before taking an offer?

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for your help on my last post. I was in a terrible mental spot from the sales org I'm in and everyone's thoughtful advice (and even tough love) really helped me understand that I should move on for my mental health and career.

I've been able to get many interviews and feel close to getting 2 offers ( Had a few rounds )

What things should I look out for before taking an offer with an organization?

Any questions I'm missing out? What do you make sure is asked before joining a sales organization?

Thank you again for all your help. I appreciate everyone's kindness.

1. Find an employee with a similar role and message them on LinkedIn. Ask them candidly about their experience, company culture, realistic commission expectations, etc. 2. Turnover 3. Get in writing the things that are important to you: can you WFH? How often? Are there clear expectations around your performance levels? What does ramp look like? 4. This may be creepy, but try and find as much on your future manager as possible. Managers can really make or break a role and if they are a piece of shit, it’s good to know that before you take a role under them.

Thanks 😊 I'm pumped. So far what I have done is spoken to someone in the role but the extra research can save me a lot of heartbreak lol. Have a good day

All of this - maybe check out Repvue if you haven't already, I've found their stuff to be pretty decent.   What % of reps hit their target? What is the w-2 of their top 3 sellers? What's the career path like? How long has my manager been managing?  How often is the product updated/feature release?  What's the teams close rates? Thinking back, there are hundreds of questions I wish I would have asked looking at sales gigs in my career.

Everything aside, just finding out who you will be reporting to and if he/she strikes as someone who'll be a great mentor to you will make you go far ahead in this.

I know this is hard to do esp finding out how they are as a leader  but this is what it's all about.

Relying just on G2, Glassdoor, product, funding, hype etc. will not yield you anything cuz every company keeps it all top notch.

Thank you for such a thoughtful response. Sites like glassdoor are so shit because it's so full of fake reviews. A good boss can definitely be the difference between a good and bad work environment so I'll keep this top of mind. Thank you again, have a great day 🤗

Reach out to current reps. Also reach out to former reps. Trust me.
