What do you categorize as a successful day?

What metric do you used to keep you motivated? Is it the same that the company lays for you or do you have your own way of measuring success?

Personally if someone appreciates my work and gives me a compliment it keeps me rolling all day. I also enjoy those peaceful days where work doesn’t seem like work and it goes flying, before you know it your done.

Sales and appointments give me some piece of mind specially when I hit quota but I no longer aun for it (I do achieve it though) instead I put my mind in a stance where I ask, how can I help this customer? Before I know it I have my monthly quota and feel I’m changing the prospects’ life in a good way.

Curious to know how the rest of the war room does it!

What’s your metric for success?

That's word for word what my grandfather used to say, even red it with his voice! I agree 1,000% in fact, today I already learned something, not work related (women time how much they have the iron in their head). At the end of day I look back and  analyze  all I learned that day.

I consider that "failing" at one task just thought you how not to do it - you just need to find the right way ;)

A fun day at work is a successful day for me. We spend so much of our lives at work that it can easily become a nightmare if we are not enjoying it or at least have it feel meaningful.

Glad you asked! I think many people think a fun day is a day with little work. For me a fun day is one where I am presented with a challenge and I am engaged in its resolution. I dont even have to feel I finished the task but progressed. Give me a day I fall asleep excited for the next morning.

I agree, fun doesn't imply no work, it means enjoying it at the fullest, and this is different for everyone, for me is when AB test a new approach that works and share it with my team mates and we discuss why it worked!

I don't think a successful day needs to be related to your job. For me, a successful day is spending quality time with yourself, family, or friends and waking up the next morning with a clear head.

I agree 100% not all success should be related to work. My grandfather taught me to enjoy life in the smallest details, I don’t have to go to Paris for a week to be happy, I can eat an apple appreciate it and enjoy life right there!

For me, a successful day is one where I have all my bases covered.
- I've researched additional contacts and put them into sequence
- I've scheduled at least one discovery meeting
- I've progressed at least one deal
- I've closed at least one deal
Keeping all those plates spinning is hard, so often at least one is neglected on a particular day

nice!!I like how you have a to due list that you can check and see how successful it was, I'll implement that, make a list of all the things that make a successful and rank my "successfulness" and keep track!

A successful day is better than my "perfect" day. I'd say the perfect day is a day where I do valuable things in na efficient manner. I've closed a deal, sent an invoice, and hit 200 cold calls before playing 18 holes. That... is a perfect day.

I gauge how good my day was on the following:

- Book one meeting
- Move a prospect forward in the sales process
- Close a deal

If I can hit 2/3 that's solid. 3/3 and I am floating on a cloud.

Honestly, you won't succeed without learning something. Even masters of their craft still find time to learn. There is a great episode of the Jordan Harbringer show about this...

"What We Discuss with Robert H. Frank: As we strive to achieve success, there are natural limits on how hard we can work and how smart we can be. There’s no denying that luck plays a part in this achievement. Understand the role of luck, talent, and hard work in the overall formula. Discover why we tend to minimize the role of luck in our success. Find out how to maximize our luck in life by way of context outside of talent and work. Learn new ways to look at the luck factor and turn it to our advantage. And much more…"
