What do you do/say after someone says 'I will get back to you'?

"So I can manage expectations on my end, when should I expect an update?" or "Thanks, if I don't hear from you by x date, I'll reach back out" or "Thanks, I'll put some time on your calendar in 2 weeks to quickly connect if I haven't heard from you first."
Yeah, i watched a video earlier in which they recommended 'So, most of the time when people say this to me, I don't hear anything back from them. Is this, honestly going to be the case?' Sounds a bit dramatic though.
That feels a little dramatic for my style too-seems appropriate if you're at the end of the deal and it's about to close anyways. You can be on their timeline, but they need to have a follow up meeting on the calendar.

I like it. I usually preface with "Why don't we do this" and then "I will put some time on your calendar_______"

If I get this response, I haven't done my job properly, to be frank.
I seldom get this response because of how i frame the call from the get-go (establish frame control with status delta, indicate scarcity, diagnose deeply on the discovery call, elicit values, elicit "the solution in their mind", show how my solution benefits produce the EXACT OUTCOME that the "solution in their mind" does).
At this point of the call I'm the prize (or rather, the solution I represent is the prize).
"Okay, great! I know you're going to take some time to thoughtfully consider everything, so if I don't hear back from you by [three business days later] I will be sure to follow up so I can address any questions you will probably have at that point. Does that sound fair?"

Not to be brash, but what will change in xxx days that we cannot solve today??? I sell an ROI improving product so not having it costs them money (well technically lol)
How do you get around someone saying they can sign off on this knowing they can’t
Triumphant moment: when a prospect calls back after months saying "you were right, I will send the PO today"
