What do you do when the contact information is no good?

Pretty common question but one that requires a good and thorough collection of answers.


We've all been there, the email format doesn't match anyone else at the company, you've tried every name possible. The phone number you have goes to a VM that doesn't state the name - Office line never gets picked up since no-one is working in their office - etc....


At what point do you give up on contact information and move on?


Personally, we leverage ZoomInfo and other random sources to find numbers, emails, and what have you, but when it comes to getting the person to open your email (sometimes blocked by proofpoint or other security blankets) or picking up a phone (not to mention calling the right number) sometimes it gets tricky and I find myself having to give up for the sake of moving to the next prospect.

Have you used the google chrome extension Lusha? I found I was flogging a dead horse until I found that extension, it pulls their contact details from LinkedIn.ย

Isnโ€™t there a free and paid model? I remember using it but forget what the limitations are of the free version.

There is a free version that gives you 5 free credits a month. I usually reserve it for the prospects I've tried every other avenue for.ย 

Can only speak from my experience in Australia but the amount of C-Level Execs that have mobile numbers or direct emails on there is a very good hit rate.

Outside of buying a new tool, I message them on LinkedIn with, "I don't have your email and was hoping to drop you a pitch." BUT I don't drop the pitch in the message. They respond with an email probably 75% of the time if it's viewed.
