Fourth option: Scream obscenities like a motherfucker to anyone who will listen.

Then it’s straight to cocktails.

Next day, carry on.

I feel my emotions and soul slowly slipping away when it comes to work, so lately I've just been figuring out why it was lost (me problem or a them problem,) figure out how I can stop that from happening again and move on. If it was a particularly juicy deal I'll be disappointed/pissed for a day, but then the next morning you've gotta wake up and be a gangsta again.

Typically curse the name of the contact for the next few days until my friends and girlfriend get tired of hearing about "Maria". Finally use the fuel of hatred for that one person to go get 5 more deals just like hers to give her the internal FU.

On to the next deal! This is a hard mentality to have when it comes to losing deals but in my opinion once you master this it enables you to be more successful. I used to waste way too much energy on lost deals that it would mess up the rest of my day.

Absolutely. You only win 5-10% of the deals. That's the reality - we are professional losers.

Losing a deal or having to give a deal away to a colleague...these things suck but these are things that will happen. Accept it and move on, there is always a new deal around the corner or another one in your pipeline that you can bring forward/ is willing to buy more product from you than initially thought.
