100% depends on the company. Cybersecurity is not something people take lightly when investing in, so it'd have to be somebody reputable

I used to be an SDR in cyber security. A prospect once told me "nobody was ever fired for using mcafee"

Lolol. I've heard this before from many people. "nobody was ever fired for using X" (insert IBM, Cisco, etc here).

But from now on, I'm going to use your McAfee story as the cautionary tale to side step that objection. "the last person who told me that just watched a Netflix special on their bad decision". Haha.. love it.

Thanks!

More info is needed, by far. But if you're starting out and the comp and company are good, then go for it.

Cybersecurity seems to be a great vertical for sales. If you are starting in sales that is a great spot to be in

Too little details to provide real advice. Cybersecurity is a great industry, but there are plenty of trash companies in the space.

search for "series a" and you'll see lots of reasons. i strongly discourage newer sales folks (e.g. <3 years) to work at them. Too much uncertainty and too little support.

cybersecurity is a booming vertical. its a boardroom issue at companies that no matter how bad things get in the economy, companies won't (and often can't) cut their budget on it. It leaves them way too exposed to risk. Its about as "recession-proof" of a vertical as you can be in. As opposed to generic marketing or recruiting software #1459839459 that is a a "nice to have" and not a "must have" for companies so its the first thing to get cut and the last thing to get purchased when money is tight.

Just made the jump from SMB to enterprise SaaS which even I'm still shocked about. What's your advice to someone new to this side of the game?
