What do you normally do with bonuses?

It is known that in sales we receive bonus every 3, 4 or 6 months and it is often a "big" amount of money (like X2, X3 a normal salary).

What do you normally do with this "extra" money?

But I use mine to top off emergency fund (6 months of living expenses) then invest the rest in VTI. In the past put towards major home remodeling (landscaping, new windows).

I have an annual target. Get paid commission monthly based on deals closed. My commission percentage increases when I surpass annual goal.

Most of my money now goes to my kid’s school and paying for the nanny. We splurged this holiday season by replacing most of our cookware. I’m thinking of buying a bigger table since we have been getting rid of toys that are outgrown, so that’s going to be another $5k-$7k in Q1.

Top up 'rainy day' fund (maintain x months of reserve just in case unexpected happens), pay down any interest accruing debt and then allocate a % towards large household projects (painting, appliance replacement etc) or top up 401K / IRAs etc.

None of these choices reflect what I actually do, which is usually a combination of save and splurge, depending. Or saving for a splurge.

I leave a slice to invest in tech that would help make next periods quota easier. This year I'm trying www.dooglie.com which saves me on ChatGPT and all the LLM's as they come in one - and im also getting one of those Remarkable2's
