What do you think of " company swag" as a sales spiff?

Asking for a friend haha.

Lol our company JUST did this. If it's legit cool (name brand stuff like Nike etc), then sure. If not, hard pass.

Not unless wearing it would make other employees jealous of how cool it is

Thanks for rewarding me with the things I can take from the marketing closet on my own...

For real, don't reward people with "stuff we all get". Unless it's totally custom and built for the contest/reward system, it's going to piss people off to get 100 of the same t-shirt.

Meh free stuff is free stuff. I get it if you are at a company that isn't "sexy". We did this, but we have North Face, Nike, TravisMathew gear, so people seemed to enjoy it (I did). But I get it if its Port Authority apparel

Northface stuff is def a difference maker. Even nike and adidas stuff is a lot of the times cheaply made, I prefer puma imho

I wouldn't be too excited for it. What's the point, like I'm going to take my branded water bottle to the gym and someone will see it and start a conversation and become a customer?

Not even a SPIF if you ask me... the F stands for FUNDS! Don't dangle a coozie in front of my nose thinking you'll get more effort out of me lol. Might as well just say "do better" to all your reps at that point.

Depends on what it is. Nice golf polos with the company logo is cool. But keep your BS pens, coffee mugs, t shirts to yourself.

I think that company swag is great, but not as a SPIFF. Christmas/holiday presents, or overall appreciation, absolutely. But if there's a competition then money is always the best incentive. Also trips, in normal times....

I'm not overly excited about getting company swag as a spiff reward, just give me a gift card from a spiff instead

With the right brand customized for your company I think it would be a decent addition. Not sure if I’d take clothing over cash or gift cards though.

My company has done this a couple of times, or as an incentive for being the most engaged in training etc. It's a fucking joke. Swag should be a given, not seen as a reward. We're advertising the company in public and on video calls by wearing it.

How about warm leads as a gift instead? Could use some of that instead of your $4 giftset off Etsy.

I can appreciate some cool swag gifts like high-quality golf gear (range finder, etc) or swag tailored to the employee's interests for sure.

But I don't need any more clothing that screams Corporate Coolaid!

Worked for a company where if you exceeded quota, accelerators were paid in Amazon GCs. Wasn’t aware of this when I started. Nothing in my contract. Left after 4 weeks…

Hard pass unless it is A) Custom B) Unique to the spiff and C) Value matches the effort required to achieve the spiff (i.e. don't give me another damn t-shirt for busting my ass).

Our company doesn't.  But you can go to the store and spend your own hard-earned money on it.

Insane.  Give me, as a Manager, a budget for this crap to try to prevent my team from setting me on fire when they're forced to work late.  Again.

It was a waste of time, promised "cool and limited" sweatshirts to drive to attendance to the annual user conference...first price "a luxury suite and limo service with a customer...second prize a company sweatshirt!"  3 months later, the company left the box of sweatshirts out at all All Hands, and everyone got one...so much for exclusivity

Lol they do that to you? The most I've got was company branded notebooks & calendars once a year, and I am a stationery nerd so I hoarded those notebooks. I would love if I could get some company swag. Not as a reward, but damn man, we were in logistics, I wanted one of those toy trucks!
