Fortunately in Canada itโs universal healthcare so I donโt believe they need Cobra. One thing I wish the US would adopt is healthcare like the rest of the world but insurance companies make too much from it to be fixed.

Also - my industry deserves criticism. There is a lot wrong with it. But also, many donโt understand it (and they make it that way on purpose). Iโm passionate about this aspect of it in particular because it harms so many who should have basic protections, but they donโt. So they give up trying for short term gain, only to be bankrupt by the system when they need help the most.

Aside from your regular pay + any variable/comms + company expenses owing. Make sure you get paid for unused vacation time or pay (or if you used it before youโre entitled to it, youโll have to pay it back/the company will deduct it form your last pay). If you have any vested stocks/shares owing to you this would have to be paid. The Record of Employment and T4 will be mailed to you.
You donโt need to get anything except proof of stats/performance. The rest they have to give you by default.
