What is an appropriate LinkedIn cover photo?

I've always been so confused with the cover photo option on LinkedIn. What am I supposed to put there? A pic of my cat? An image of me making a sale (I def don't have my own lifestyle images... also, that feels weird?). I also don't want to be "that person" and include a random photo of Mount Everest or an inspirational quote. Profile pic is hard enough, why do we need another?

I've never been into having a big corporate marketing logo i just like having something personal. i.e. mine is hole 12 at Augusta

I have a group photo of one of my professional groups in college. I don't think there's a rule on it, but I would use anything you can talk about in an interview. Nobody has ever asked me about mine.

I sell into labs so my cover photo is a fancy pic of a microscope. Many of my colleagues use a pic of a DNA strand.

Company banner, favourite city, an image relevant to your industry etc, sports clubs are risky though.
