Neither will help you close more deals. Knowing someone might help you get the foot in the door and possibly a closed-won deal. Knowledge can also help you get in the door and win a deal.Β 

It is how you leverage both of these to then show the prospect how you can help them solve a problem. Both Who you know and What you know are vehicles to get you on the road.Β 

Attaching what you sell to a problem and solving that problem is how you close deals.Β

In my opinion it’s what you know. Obviously it depends on what you sell and where you are. But if you have the knowledge it’s better than not.

what you know - who you know only allows you to close deals that would be easy to win since they should trust you. You should be a SME in your field and know your competitors well too. I use the challenger methodology and it's worked wonders.Β Β

Both but knowing people can help more so in getting a deal possibly. If you know the right people then it’s always helpful

I think that’s the point, there is no β€œworks most.β€œ One must have the right balance of both to be a consistent closer. Otherwise it’s just luck.
