What is the best SaaS company to improve Sales Skills in 2022?

Hello,

For some time, we've heard Xerox was the best sales school, the best place to learn and grow as a sales individual and to develop the right knowledges. Then we heard Salesforce was the best place to work when it comes to that.

According to you, at the time of this post, what is the next best place (SaaS) to improve Sales Skills and to grow as a Salesrep in 2022?

PS: Obviously, improving Sales capabilities has to do with your own ability to search and learn (Podcasts, daily practice, consistency, books etc... but I'm not talking about that here).

Wait - Xerox?ย ย

That was so last century!

More recently, any of the big players in the tech space.ย  Hard as heck to break into, but as a rep (or starting out as BDR) you'll get enabled and taught process as part of the methodology.ย  There's a reason why those folks get recruited, too.ย  ย They are seasoned and well trained.

Thanks!ย

Yeah Xerox, I know it was back then but that's exactly my point.ย

"Any of the big players" is a very wide answer. Could you be more specific?ย

Oracle, Salesforce, Google, AWS, Adobe, for example.ย  Anybody with SaaS or cloud platforms, and a range of partners and programs to support them.ย  ย You'll have to work hard, it's a grind and very tough, but you will be well trained.ย  ย  You will be a number, one among many.ย  ย It's hard to get into these companies.ย  ย

Honestly - there is so much stuff out there you can get a PHD in selling with a very minimal outlay of $$.

if you want to really cut your teeth and fast, I would look at a place like memory blue or BAO where you're basically functioning as an outsourced BDR making 200+ dials per day. You'll get over that phone anxiety real quick.ย

I've hear oracle is great to learn at but I don't have any first hand experience.ย

Thanks! I'll take that into account but just to specify, I'm not referring to prospecting and basic discovery calls. I've done that for years already and I'm pretty comfortable with cold calling. Here I'm referring about the Sales Process itself and especially building value, engage executives, negotiate...

You can make โ€œold schoolโ€ comments all you want. Going door to door and trying to sell a legacy technology is a great way to cut your teeth and learn objection handling, dialing in a product differentiation, and over all stick-too-itโ€™ness.

Plus many of them have other services, IT, document management, physical security, etc.. where you can explore what other interests you have after you move on.

Even now, as I close 7 figure deals I still use some of the skills I learned banging in those doors slinging copiers.

couldnโ€™t agree more here. i did 6 months door to door selling home security systems before breaking into Fintech/SaaS and that left me miiiiles ahead of my onboarding cohort

Meh loaded question.ย

Some study sandler, some study gap, some study spin, some study challenger.

Who gives a fuckย

You need to find one that you align with.

I believe you are referring to the selling framework here but that is not really my point. Thanks though.
