On Li, without Sales Navigator, you usually send out a connection request with a note. Limited to 300 Words. I was curious as to what other do propose value in this case. Usually that's the only way if you are unable to find mail or phone so it has to hit the mark

Currently everybody says blank connection request is better.

If they accept then you send a note. And please don’t send a pitch in your first message. Find something they would care about and then ask a question.

I've had a surprising amounts of connections accepted without any note. I don't like pitching/selling right away on LI.

I'll accept about any connection request except for those tied to the recruiters looking for irrelevant (to me) roles, or immediate pitchers - but I'm not a DM, so there's nothing they're offering that will be of interest.

SaaS is a way to deliver software. So you're really selling what is being deployed on SaaS.

Anyway, are you asking for a way to find and consolidate prospects, or for a way to reach out to them while on LI?

Gotcha.

Short and sweet. Intro yourself, the value prop you provide for their company (or someone in their role/with their title) and ask if they will have a quick chat. Mix it up based on what you can see on their profile (are they an alumnus of your university or home town, etc).

The connection attempts I ignore personally are the ones that clearly don't provide any value to me - example, overseas recruiters looking for engineers and wanting to discuss a position with me. Not worth my time. I'll connect to just about anybody else, and will have a quick dm convo with almost anybody as well.

Something you modify so that the first line is very specific to each person you reach. Takes time, but actually gets responses

Something you can customize the first line for each person so that it’s very specific and they actually feel like you took at least as much time drafting as it took them to read. Takes more time, but people actually respond if you do it right

I say SAAS as out of 10 emails I get 9 are offering SAAS services, from startups to enterprises. I think you need to create an identity on that short window to separate yourself a bit.

If 9 out of 10 are mentioning it, it's not a way to separate yourself any longer. ;)

OH ok now I know what your talking about. I do not do alot out of reach on linked in but when I do i try to mention something specific in their profile to show I read it and made a connection with it.

That is what normally gets my attention when i received LI outreach.

Are you trying to build connection or create a pitch? I don’t use linkedin much but if we have some clarity, we might be able to add something

I refrain from sends notes on LinkedIn because it pops up immediately after one accepts connection request. I myself find it creepy sometimes.
