What is the best way to keep in touch with a post-demo prospect?

Hey all SalesHeads,

To give some background, I work at a Saas company with what seems to be a shorter sales cycle (about 30-60 days). After demo, I typically talk next steps and tell a prospect that I send over an agreement for them to review and then have another call to talk about implementation and final steps.

Many folks push back and say they need at least 2 or 3 weeks before they can make any type of decision. Obviously, time kills all deals. So are there good interim touches that you all recommend while you wait for the next scheduled call?

Would love any feedback.

Post demo I like to set a timeline to work backwards from.

IE - You need this up and running for Sept 1? That means we need implementation to start August 21st, which means we'll need a PO by August 14th etc etc - and have that be the goal.

Exactly this--set a timeline with milestones and deadlines. Tie negative consequences to missing those milestones and/or deadlines, and use those consequences to drive urgency.
