I mean in all fairness I have definitely worked on a beach with a mojito multiple times over the last 12 months. I was very lucky and very fortunate that I broke into the SF tech industry straight out of college and have the logos on my resume that essentially set me up to work wherever I want. RN, I’d say my current company, while it has its flaws, pays REALLY well and has tons of upwards mobility

Started at a cyber security company and currently work for a large conglomerate company that has acquired a bunch of productivity tools. OTE was 220k at the old one and 260k currently

I'm working at mine, but can't tell you exactly which one, because I'll dox myself.

Why is it great?   Hard work, but is rewarded.  Great base and OTE.   My management is awesome.   I like what I sell and my account base.

Currently Scoping out AWS, Axonius, and Databricks All Remote, with great mobility, pay, notoriety, and reviews. Wish me luck

I'm starting databricks too but would be more excited by datadog I guess. Which one is the best in this field according to you?

I used to work for a straight demo, close within 2 weeks and make easy 130k a year (no discovery) job during the pandemic. I wouldn't take a meeting before 8am, and i left fridays open for follow ups and golf. Played a shit ton of golf.

Now I have a super hard job that doesn't pay much. Idk what the moral of the story is, but shit.

I would love to work in the defense industry. I'm not going to take any kind of pay cut to do it but if the pay is equal to or greater than what I'm at currently I'd make the move and I actually love where I'm at right now.

Would love to break into cybersecurity but I have no experience in cyber so it’s highly unlikely to ever be an option

You can definitely do it at CrowdStrike - not sure what pay you’re looking for but SMB and Corporate AE is very doable.

teams seem to be hitting OTE very well, internal promotions abound for top performers.

I just got an offer from them and have no previous cyber experience. Just need to present yourself well and show you can do the work and learn quickly.

my current one.

Incredible comp plan. management is real humans that you can have normal conversations with just like you would anyone else. Good career growth. a ton of resources available. a product with an excellent market fit where we are truly the best in our industry. A literal shit ton of equity in the company. Free healthcare.

I wouldn't dream of leaving where I'm at now .

Sounds like a dream! I’m about to start at a new job at a place that *seems* as though it will be for me what your current company is for you. Fingers crossed!

Also- with so much equity, what stage were they at when you joined and where are they now?

s1 was filed in December, I joined in January. now the s1 has been approved and everything. just waiting on the IPO date to be announced. I'm hoping it gets delayed until I get my next promotion though so I can get more equity first.

Not a company but more so of a respected name in certain industries. I would love to be in the Ed Tech space or any SaaS company that deals with training and education for employees.

Why SaaS?  Plenty of other non-SaaS fish in the sea which pay well, have a great culture, etc..

Hmmm... I'm in SaaS myself but open to discover! What are you thinking about?
