What Kept You In Sales

The hardest part about Sales (In My Opinion) is sticking with it. I can see why turnover is high and how some people don't like the up and down lifestyle that sales provides. Thus, I would love to hear what has kept fellow savages in this game? For me it's the fact my company does not micromanage.

Have you left and come back to sales

Honestly, the feeling of a DocuSign hitting my inbox after a long cycle is addicting. It is a grind, but it pays well.ย

First, it was the money.ย  Now it's the money and the freedom to set my own schedule AND the freedom that more money brings:)

Even on the most stressful days in sales, it's not life or death. Most of my family is in the medical profession. It's life or death. We get paid about the same when I'm on my A game.

I'm not saying I don't get stressed, but I thin sales stress is easier compartmentalized than some jobs out there. And the rush is addicting.

Love this. I always try and remind myself it could be so much harder when I get nervous about making cold calls!

It's knowing that there will always be a need for sales people. Most other jobs can be done by computers, but sales will always be a necessary role.

Great point. I know people say robots can take over our roles, but I'm with you. I think customers need salespeople way more than they realize. A robot can't emphasize like a good salesperson

No matter what you do you'll be slangin something ya know.ย

But I gotta say... selling for yourself (100% commission) is so-much-better than selling for any percentage of commission.

Money and relationships. I love having an income that allows me to support my family, while also being able to spend comfortably on some nicer things now and again. I also love knowing that I've improved a business process, helped someone get promoted, or saved a company money. The last two jobs I've gotten have been from relationships I've built with clients. In fact my 3 references I use are all former clients of mine.
