What made you quit your previous organisation?

I quit my last job though the product was good, industry was good because my manager was too intrusive. He insisted that I feel devoted to the company because they did not downsize the team during the pandemic.

Gratitude is fine, blood oaths are not.

Why did I? The culture was torn apart by our new Chief People Officer who had more leverage over our CEO than his co-founders (COO, CPO). We had an employee handbook that was more restrictive than what I ever saw when I was working for one of the largest tech companies in the world. They also preached "equitable pay", but would pay their current employees 1/3 of what new talent was to be paid...and we could see it all in the hiring plan. I ultimately asked to be paid my worth, they agreed but reneged so I split.

Love your first sentence ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Too many "expect" the blood oath but refuse to pay.ย

And they wonder why they can't get people to work for them ๐Ÿง

Wasn't the industry for me and my role involved too many non sales activities. Earning potential wasn't there either.

New management hires which led to a really bad culture change.

Before I was in Sales I was processing claims for B.O.A on the back end. It was miserable and the highlight of the job was when I saw someone had disputed about 500$ of OnlyFans charges. Needless to say, I quit that job without giving any two weeks notice and found a sales gig I love. Best decision I've made in my 20 something short years on this planet๐Ÿ˜Ž

Toxic culture and no room for growth unless you were a little too close with managementย

It was sales...but dishonestly and no care for their workers...no trust

was getting paid grossly low, BoD had a terrible vision of where our sales team needed to go (wanted us to rely on their references instead of actually prospecting), my AE couldn't close a damn thing (set up very qualified meetings with accounts that were massive, prospects were excited about the product when I spoke with them, only to have the prospects wanting nothing to do with us after they spoke with my AE)

Sub-market pay. Salespeople aren't in it for love, right?

Previous company is losing salespeople left and right, think I made a great decision leaving. Anyone else have a similar experience?
