What part of your job makes your eye twitch?

Mine is collaborating on messaging for prospecting. I'll come to the table with something I like, is well-researched, and has a particular strategy only to have it ripped apart and replaced with messaging I think is absolutely terrible.

I'd imagine it's like if someone came into a log cabin I built and said, "hmm the walls in this place feel too rustic, let's paint them black instead."

This. Its frustrating to spend months working on a deal and finally getting into contracting but it feels like youโ€™re own legal team is working against you. Iโ€™m all for making sure companies dont get burned, but when the lawyers think they are there for more than that it turns into a slog. The only thing Iโ€™ve found that can sometimes help is asking โ€œIs this something that will prevent a close?โ€ everytime someone decides they donโ€™t like the placement of a comma or whatever.

Tell me about it man, Iโ€™ve had legal delay a deal by a month over something stupid like how the LoL is listed (limit of liability) it just sucks when you feel like your on an island

I feel like sometimes they do they on purpose. If everything would just pass legal, it seems like theyยดre not doing their job.

This resonates with me, as we put together some very specific messaging for a campaign we were running on a subset of leads that came from one of our biggest clients. Marketing came in and ripped it to shreds... long story short, we should've left marketing out of it, as the campaign did nothing.ย
