What pet do you have?

What's up fam,

As an animal lover, I'd love to learn what types of pets are most popular among sales savages.

Personally, I have two beautiful dogs, a Husky and a Belgian Malinois.

I have an SDR in my basement. I give them protein bars and Coors Light for every 500 calls they make. Does that count?

How's it working out? I have a 90 day guarantee clause if they misbehave. You can return them to my shower for further education.

I got mine used, so no returns. But I might just throw it away and get a new one.

I have my CEO in the root cellar. I feed her bad opps and unqualified meetings for not taking my feedback seriously. That counts right?

Would recommend a Newfoundland lab mix! They're still enormous and very smart, but can adapt to a lot of climates.

Awww sounds like an awesome second gig. So they drop them off at your place and you take care of them? Or do you go to other people's places? Or how do you do it?

I foster lost souls from Tinder/Bumble for 1-2 weeks at a time. I leave them in a better place than I find them, but as a universal truth, I always leave them.

Had a raccoon years ago. Fun pets, but basically like raising an extra needy toddler.

Hahah that's awesome. I got so many questions now though.  Where did you live? And how did you manage to get it? Did you get it legally? What happened, why do you no longer have it?

It was awesome. They have a ton of personality and, believe it or not, get along pretty well with other pets. Loved watching her play with our dog.

I lived in Wyoming at the time and raccoons are considered varments so no legal issues in owning them. Rancher buddy of my dad's knew I was on the lookout for one so come spring time he kept his eyes open. He comes across the babies all of the time while fixing fences on his ranch. Have to get them in the spring when they're still young enough that their eyes are still closed otherwise they won't domesticate.

We lived in the country at the time so Sundance was an inside and outside pet like the dog. She would take off every now and then and come back after an hour or so. One day during one of her escapades she likely got into a scuffle with another raccoon or something because she came back hurt pretty bad, died on the way to the vet. That was a rough moment. Got pretty close to her because they act so much like small children and she went everywhere with me.

Used to ring the doorbell when she wanted to come inside. If she decided she wanted you to hold her you didn't have a choice, she'd just climb up your clothes like a tree. Lots of fun.

Haha might have to move to Wyoming just to have one, it sounds like a ton of fun. What happened to her? How much do they live?

Sorry to hear about her end, but that sounds amazing.

No clue if trash panda ownership is legal in Toronto, but I had a (rather kooky, old) neighbour that let them in his kitchen to feed them.

My parents would also get babies in the backyard between our fence and garage behind, so unbelievably cute.

They do make a HELLUVA racket when fighting though...

In the wild like 5 years tops, in captivity I've heard they can live for like 20 years. My dad had one growing up that was with them for like 12 years.

Many, many animals over the years.  Currently a box turtle and two ridiculous cats who should know better.

I find them easier to deal with than interns, tbh.

Omg i love turtles and reptiles in general. Used to have 7 turtles as a kid, it was a 2-meter tank but they got too big and my parents made me give them away ):

Yeah, EBT doesn't require the water tank, so he's a lot easier than aquatic turtles for sure.    And since I end up as the ultimate caretaker for any pet entering the house, I'm much more picky than I was as a kid when I had animals coming out my ears, as they all deserve excellent care, and I need to be sure I have the time to take care of them properly.

Just give him attention, don't be a lazy couch potato yourself, and get him involved in some of your day to day as much as possible (like if you are watching a sports game high five him).

Mine went everywhere with me, and I was very active!   Lots of play, lots of time spent training him to do all kinds of crazy tricks, and in his case, chasing tennis balls.   We used to joke that his brain was round and fuzzy and went donk donk donkdonkdonk on the floor.

@champchamp SOLID dog choices, love both Huskies and Malinois, though I'm not sure I could deal with the shedding from the former.

Haha They are awesome, so much fun. Especially because I like hikes and outdoor stuff so they fit my lifestyle really well.

HAHA That's a great point that I suggest anyone interested in a Husky to deeply consider it.

Summertime gives you two options:
a) Take them to the park and brush them AT LEAST every other day
b) Live under a giant cloud of hair. I'm talking furniture, clothes, EVERYWHERE.

Options sound about right, and with Malinois you've got to really know what you're doing and invest in training.

Whereabouts do you live?
