What qualifications should I have to level up my career?

This is my first post, so please be kind!

I have been in sales, operations, and CAD/CAM design in the jewelry industry for 10 years, then in 2021, I decided to switch into SaaS sales. Now I am in tech, and absolutely love my job and love the company I'm at.I'm really happy here!

I really would love to level up and climb the corporate ladder, but I did not finish college, and I don't have my degree. I am confident in my selling abilities, but I feel like my pedigree doesn't match my company's standards. Would I even qualify for a promotion? I need some advice on what I can do to make myself stand out without having a degree. Thanks!

Unless otherwise stated in their requirements, schooling doesn't matter. What matters is your ability to sell and promote. Can you sell yourself? Can you sell the product/service?

Every company is different on that. Have a transparent conversation with your manager if that will be a future roadblock or not

Most organizations don't care about your schooling, unless they're large, older corporations.

They care about what you've done and what you can do for them.

this is why you got into sales! education, degrees, certifications.....it doesnt mean shit.

If you are good at your job you will have a chance to earn a good living and not have to depend on promotions.

you also wont get held back from promotions because you didnt finish college. just keep crushing your role and then ask for a raise. thats how the game works homie.

solid first post BTW

When you say "climb up the corporate ladder", what do you mean? If you stay as an IC, and want to move up in sales, degrees may not matter. However, it may matter very much if you want to move into management.

Depends on the org & depends how good you are at generating rev & being valuable… and also being seen & heard.
