What's the most satisfying part of the sales cycle?

I feel like the default answer is moving the opportunity to closed, getting the high-fives, pouring a heavy drink and doing the mental math on commissions.

But as I've continued in sales I've realized by the time the paperwork is signed I've somewhat lost interest in the closing process because the challenge is over. The thrill for me is getting them to say "yes"...the rest over the process is just admin paperwork.

Wondering what the thrill is for others on here?

I agree with you. It's fun for sure when they sign, but usually that is just at the end of a tedious legal process. For me, when they say "we'd like to move forward with your tool" is the most satisfying part.

I agree. The verbal high is quite nice 👍🏼

I’ve been burned after receiving a verbal agreement before so i try to restrict my excitement until the deal is signed but getting the verbal commitment is still very satisfying.

I think for me its when I see my entire plan come together in the end! Whether thats a verbal yes or eagerness to buy or finally getting the deal signed.
Usually, wherever competition is involved, I like to take feedback towards the end from the prospect on our sales cycle. I've usually had feedback around how my sales approach was better than the other rep and thats always a great ego boost!

For sure when the deal is signed. I also find opening an opportunity to be satisfying

Peak energy comes from both my champion and the exec buyer telling me the project is a success. This is usually months after the deal is closed.

Nothing better than getting the Docusign notification that my doc is fully executed...

For me it’s the sign. The verbal yes can later be no
