Oh yea! Remember a sales manager of mine, 5 years ago who was a “big shot” and told us all how we could increase and crush our numbers. A colleague of mine told him to pick up the phone and show us. Never he did, and left the company 2 month later.

What a brick.

This is the worst. My manager was given 5 big accounts when she came on and I've never seen her make an outbound cold call. I cringe when she tries to coach me up on how to prospect.

Had a director once that was all about analyzing all the KPIs to an extreme level. He’d never sold anything, refused to even dip his toes in the water, and always surprised when statistics didn’t add up.

A LinkedIn influencer giving people shit for not quitting their jobs to be a full-time "creator". Some people just don't have the experience yet so shitting on them for still working for someone else is pretty awful.

People who say a content creator isn't valid if they are currently employed.

Like wtf - I basically have a company that has validated my shit is stinky and got me on an annual retainer with benefits.

Having a full-time job should be the biggest validator of my quality.

It's incredibly common.  When I've helped SD teams in the past with "consulting" which is a loose term, the biggest objection is well if you're so good at it why do you work for someone.

Some people don't desire to take the risks of running their own company.

Some people are really freaking good at what they do and have a really good setup with a W-2 employer and benefits that also allows them to spread their wings and fly on the side.

Disruptor of worlds
I just hooked my first cryptobro on LinkedIn last night at about 4am. I was up writing a speech and buddy shows up looking like the love child of Jordan Belfort and Brock Turner. He started asking me about crypto which I hate talking about on the internet. Then I tried to shut that down. "I dont like talking about that and I only have hardware wallets."

Well, one mans junk is another douchebags opportunity to try again. So he starts paddling at me in his douchecanoe again. 'I hold this and that coin' (mostly good ones but some like XRP that tell me this guy isn't a real player.) So I ask him what his thoughts on ripple are. Tells me its a great investment hes been holding forever. Then asks when I bought my crypto. So he really likes personal questions. Keep in mind, I at no point asked him for financial advice that would warrant these kinds of questions. He did pretty well on his marriage though. So i asked what his wife was like in bed. Now all of a sudden he is fabulously offended by personal questions.

But he doesn't let that deter his love for money. So as a last ditch effort he grabs another white claw and this becomes a doublefisted tale of douchebaggery. "I'm only asking because I want to make sure youre holding a profitable asset." I told him that we should probably talk about something other than crypto. He freaks out and says "thanks for wasting my time asshole".

Anyway, I think I may have passed level 1 on LinkedIn.

This was something. I bet he won't bother you again. You only did a good thing by wasting his time because he didn't draw a line when he should've.

The sad part is, I was willing to give the lad a chance, despite his cringey posts. He coulda taken my first sentence and read it, and stayed away from crypto. I would have talked with him, maybe even gave him some good crypto advice one day, since I regularly talk with whales. But instead he just kept pushing. He doesn't know how much crypto I have, I don't know what his wife is like in bed. He disappointed both of us.
