What's your degree in?

My office has degrees ranging from biology, to entrepreneurship, to economics.

So I'm curious, what did you get your degree in? Do you think it's helping you in your current role?

Economics- don't use it for work as such, but don't regret it.

Mine is Econ too! Oddly enough I feel like it's helped me with prospecting as well as needs analysis, but aside from that it doesn't come into play very often.

Samsies. Love the analytical side even if it doesn't contribute as heavily to sales. Understanding of the blood of a business helps see the real picture

I agree. I do appreciate that about having a finance degree as well. I think it made me a better listener as well.

Hospitality Admin with a concentration in Golf Enterprise Management. Was a golf pro for 10 years before sales. So happy to be out of that industry now. Where did you go to school?

I have 2 BA's, one in Communications, and one in Psychology. I also have an MBA .

I'd say they've all helped in their own way, but above and beyond the Psychology degree has played the biggest role. In interviews hiring people will always comment how that shows them I can read the read room better and look for non-verbal queues.

I was weighing the Strategic Marketing Management myself for my MBA.  Did you find you were noticeably more desired after completing?

It helped me get an immediate promotion at the company I was with, which also paid for the MBA.  So, that may have helped.   I was in BDE with a major IT distributor and was responsible for cross-selling consumer electronics into our core VARs, which is why I decide to focus on that.   It has definitely helped with roles after that too!

Interesting. Same type of thing regarding cross-selling. Plus I'm management bound again soon, Thanks for the feedback Captain :)

No degree here. I tried a couple of times, some more successful than others and have considered going back - but for me, the ROI isn't there. I'm well into 6 figures with no loan debt. I hustled my way up and am the sole provider for my family and I'm pretty proud of that.

I think this is the first time in years where I've run into somebody in sales with a major I hadn't seen in the field before.
